During this two-part 6-hour class, students will explore the Japanese hand-stitching known as sashiko. In Japanese, its name means “little stabs.” Traditional sashiko combined decorative techniques with mending and quilting. Students will learn how to design and transfer patterns onto fabric and practice “loading" the needle correctly to create consistent, smooth-running stitches.
All materials included. Some stitching may be required at home.
NOTE: Class size limited to 6 people. A supply list will be sent upon registration. The kit is included in your fee.
